Tooooooe Soooooocks

So I'm chillin' here in the conference room at my dorm with Kit. She's studying for her Physics exam but asked me to stay with her. So here I am with my now metallic blue nails, my awesome black, orange, and white striped Princeton toe socks, and these American Eagle bermuda shorts I found in the laundry lost and found today (Free clothes are cool clothes. Especially when I get them for $0. I don't care that they're boys shorts either. >D It fits. And it was free. Teeheehee.).

So I just watched The Golden Compass, and IT IS A FAILURE AND SHOULD BE DISOWNED. I am terribly ashamed! Gah! People were right! It made me raaaaaaaage. Kit tried to tell me that the Harry Potter books were worse in the raping of the movies. LIES. At least with Harry Potter, they keep it decently similar to the storyline! But the entire book was skewed! a;lkdjf;akgjaklsdjfaj.

Besides that, I'm not just sitting here with not much to do. Kit's busy working Gravitational Force problems. So either I'll watch some Sailor Moon or doodle. Maybe I'll actually draw something decent or not so depressed. Well, there are a few sketches and a funny marker drawing I did. I'll post the marker eventually, I promise.

Anyways, things with Patrick is looking up. Spent time with him before he left for the break and had dinner with his family. I'm feeling better about myself as well. So that's a good sign. He's been much more considerate and observant lately. And he finally got a haircut! Nietzsche's balls, he's been overdue for a cut for a long time. He only cut his hair once since we started dancing, and that was layer his hair to keep it the same length. He said it's now short. I just don't know how short. It'll be interesting.

I forgot that Patrick's mom was really funny. She makes fun of him a lot. It was fun to listen to her. I also forgot how red Patrick's dad is. It's like he has a permanent severe sunburn all over his body. They probably think I'm this uber quiet girl. I was a bit more outgoing this time, but not by much. And so, I will probably be known as the really quiet girl Patrick's dating to them. But I guess it's better that they have that image of me than other ones. Hell, I'm the first girlfriend that was introduced to them. His cousin complimented on me on being able to stand being with Patrick for over 8 months when I met her. I was amused when she told me that.

And I've now come to the conclusion that I bum food off of Patrick and Kit's families. Everytime I see one of the families, I'm always treated to food. The only time I paid for my own food around them is if it was just Kit and her friend and this one time I paid for my food before Kit's brother could pay for it. So yeah. I bum food. Yeah.

Also, Kit and I can't stop singing "The Bad Touch." Starting yesterday, we've been singing lines from the song all day. :D

Also, it is really awkward when Appa calls right when Patrick are about to have sex. I got to find that out. Also, dorms have lots of interruptions. And people wonder why I like to stay isolated (Lawl. Just kidding.). But really though. Lots of interruptions. Ask for the whereabouts of people later, dudes! From my observations, if Patrick's door is closed, he's either not there or busy busy. But anyways. Bah.

Anyways, I'm off to wiggle my toes in my awesome toe socks and see what I can doodle. Peace.

PS: These are awesome. Watch 'em.

They're famous speeches adjusted to a melody. It's really awesome. And you can download the mp3s for free! DOOOOOOOO EEEEEEEEET.

[EDIT 3:17PM] - Lol, after two all nighters, I'm crashing. So even though I missed lab and didn't turn in the homework, I'm sleeping. Sleep, you and me are hooking up tonight. LaTale, we can hook up later this weekend.

So I found that Piri actually has a mic built in. XD

So I made a rant. Lol. I haven't made on since my junior year. And they are so much fun! I don't know why I stopped! XD

Here's my last rant I made: RANT LULZ

It was lulz and such! I think this will become a weekly thing. This way I lol to myself and amuse myself and possibly others. XD

Sorry, people, but I'm friendslocking my lj.
Hey there, guys!

Okay so the concert's over. It was okay. The opening band was The Send. No one really knew them nor cheered very hard. It was kind of sad. And to top it off, it was really hot. I even got a whole shad darker, even though I tried to keep my face out of the sum. I even have a tan line from CLASS RING on my FINGER. For an Asian, I have darker skin (except for my feet. They look white. XD I only wear tennis shoes. Just started wearing flipflops last year.), and I tan extremely easy. My mother would make jokes about how I'm turning black during marching season. I talked to a friend about it and she said, "Yeah, when I saw you then, you were REALLY dark." I just tan, I don't burn. I've only gotten sunburn once, and it was a very light case. And that was because my shoulders were wet from waterpark water (all that chlorine and other stuff. Eww...) and no towel to use at the time and 98 DEGREE SUNLIGHT with a slight bit of humidity. Darn this sun of ours.

Anyways, about the rest of the concert. When Hawk Nelson came out, all of the sudden, two tall guys get in front of me. I have no idea where they came from. I'm serious. I'm looking at a friend behind me, and then all of the sudden I turn around and see two really tall guys right in front of me. So I had to watch between their head while on my toes. I'm short. It was fine until the last song where they decided to mock everyone and start jumping. Because they started to move BACKWARDS. I had a trash can next to me, and I was going to put it between them and me, but they stopped before I had to do that. (I am very concious about personal space. I don't like people touching me. That's why hugs from me at school are rare and the highlight of the day. XD) Anyways, Hawk Nelson was okay. I was able to figure that some songs that I hear on the radio was theirs. So that's good. I didn't so much like the singer. But I really like the guitar player with the lip ring. I don't know any of their names, so... I just like that guy.

I did buy a shirt. I'll take a picture of it and post it. It's not a Hawk Nelson shirt, it's a The Send shirt. It's black with gray piano keys going accross the shirt. I like it. And I did like The Send's song "Epiphany." There was a Hawk Nelson shirt I wanted, but it was more than I had. In fact, I had to borrow two dollars from my friend in order to buy this shirt. I poor. *is sad* But I'm supposed to get paid for this science program. I really do need to ask Appa about that... I have no idea when and how much I'll get paid. -_-;

NANOSCIENCE!! You guys will hear that from me for a while. ^^ I'm going to name these people because saying "that person" and "the other person" is too much. Main professor = Dr. R1, Usual Teacher = Dr. G, Cute grandfather = Dr. R2, The German guy = ... Dr. L, oh and the graduate student = Mr. W (But he's leaving on the 18, so...). Okay, yesterday, we got into the lab but Dr. G wasn't there, but Dr. R2 was. Dr. R1 then came in and told him to teach us for, today. It was kind of awkward beacuse none of us had every really spoken to him before. The only thing he had ever said to me before yesterday was, "Your lab is over there? ... Okay." Well once we started the experiment, we started talking abit more. And by the end of experiment, I came to the conclusion that I really like this man and he's cute. He's a cute Indian grandfather professor. I like him. Now I have yet to actually talk to the Dr. L besides "Are you done the pipette? If so, may I please use it?" Okay so four down, one to go!

Heyheyheyheyheyheyhey!!! I'm going to a concert, today! It actually will be my first concert besides orchestras and symphonies. So it's something new for me, and I don't have to pay for the ticket! We get in for free! Okay so it's a Hawk Nelson concert. They're on a baseball tour, so that's the only reason why they are coming to the state I live in. Recently, a huge and very nice baseball stadium was built. To tell the truth, I've never really listened to any of their music. I've heard it, but never really listened to it. I'm going with some friends who really like Hawk Nelson, mainly my friend, we'll call her a different name, Ashley really likes them and she's going to Africa tomorrow. That's actually how we're getting in for free. Some one working for the concert/stadium knows her and got us free tickets. So yay! There's also another plus. I get to leave school a bit early for this. Usually we have this 4-5 study hall that is mandatory and pointless at times for me. So I talked to the teacher and asked if I could go early, and he said yes. So another yay!

Okay, I don't think I really talked about what I'm researching at the school. I'm at my dad's work, a state univ. I'm a part of a summer research program for 6 weeks (actually 5 because I have to miss a week). I am working with the professor in nanoscience. I've only talked to him for this week, but he's a nice person. When I first met him, he had just come back from India the night before. He had arrived at 2 AM. My goodness, how can anyone arrive that late from an international flight and still make to work the next morning? So of course he wasn't too sociable or happy. I don't blame him. But now that I've gotten to talk to him more, I really like him. He seems to like me, too. Maybe because when he does a lecture with the whole program, I'm like the only one who knows the answers or at least says them right. ^^; He also has a very thick Indian accent which I can understand better than the other students in the program. Like fuel, fluent English speaking people say it like Fyule. He says it like Foo-el. That was funny because only three people including me could understand what he said.

Okay, I have 30 minutes to kill. I used to go into the lab at 9:30-9:50, but this week, they asked us to come in around 10:30. It's 9:50, right now. Oh, which reminds me, I'm supposed to make copies of my nanoparticle results. *goes to make copies* ... My flash drive won't fit... The CPU is a slim gateway model thing. The left side is for CDs and discs, then there's a strip that is elavated with the power button and the logo. The two previous things are vertical. Then there's the USB. It's horizontal, and my flash drive is wide. I'll have to go to my dad's office and do it, but he's not in there right now. Which means I'll have to give my lab partners the information tomorrow. Well, actually, I might be able to give it to them this afternoon before our lecture.

[EDIT] - I got the copies! I had to ask a teacher in the front about it, and he had to plug it into the back of the CPU. I also just came back from the lecture and I feel accomplished. *gleams with pride* I know what my professor was talking about before he even said the name of certain things. I knew the answers to most of his questions. Of course, he didn't hear me, so he would ask someone else who would get it wrong and then say the answer. But that's okay, because I know I got the right answer. XD

Apparently later on the research we're supposed test the mercury levels in fish unsing nanoparticles. That will be fun. In the lab we're actually working with a lab worker, not the professor, since he's busy. But the guy we're working with is good. He knows what he's talking about and is thorough. He's funny, too. When I asked about what kind of fish, fresh or frozen, I told about the frozen whole fish we have at the store. He smiled and said it can be either. He also said if I brought a whole one, he would eat it for lunch because we're going to actually use just a small portion of the fish. That made us all laugh. Again, NANOSCIENCE IS HEART!!! XD

Jun. 5th, 2007

Okay, so I just started this research program yesterday. It's called PREM or Partnership for Research and Education in Materials. I've pretty much become an apprentice to a professor at a state university. It's only been a day and a half, but the subject I'm working on is really cool. The professor I'm working for reseaches nanotechnology and nanoscience. Right now, his lab is researching nanosynthesis. Not quite sure what that is, but it sounds interesting. The main professor actually isn't here now, he's in India, but he's coming back tomorrow and coming to lab on Thursday. So I'll get to meet him then. I was told that once he gets here, we'll start discussing possible research for me. So for now, I'm getting all that lovely background information. I'm actually supposed to be looking up some things, now, since I don't quite understand some things in the powerpoints I was given. Like yesterday, I had no idea what were quantum dots. But today, they were explained to me by a person in the lab, so now I know! .... Somewhat... So yeah, I'll be working in this program for six weeks, so not much free time for me. Oh well.

Some RPers just don't get itCollapse )

On Wiis and Joining Applicants

So my family finally got a Wii! And it's a lot of fun, even if we only have the sports game and Wii Play. But it's still fun, nevertheless. And it's funny how much my dad wanted it. We found that Walmart had it when we were looking at calculators, we glanced over at the games just to see and there was one. My dad said that we would buy it later on when we come to buy my calculator. We went yesterday, and there were two. Then I just remembered that the Walmart in my town gets shipments on Tuesdays. So we bought it and played. Twas fun.

Okay, some new people have applied for Angelic Dreams, and that's great, more people is more fun. But they don't seem to get the system of starting a new game. They keep coming up with most powerful spell. Which doesn't matter, because all spells that one person uses have the same damage count. And then, each character they start is a new character. A character that has little power. But no, let's not read the rules and give my character so much power! One person even had a dragon summon that could freeze a person on contact. WHAT?! NO! No! That's not going to work! GRRR.... I'm going to have to change the rules a bit. Especially on spells. I feel like making a quiz on the rules to make sure that people are reading them. I think I'll do something like that. Not exactly a quiz, but put in a word that's out of place. And it'll be changed every week or so. That way I can be sure that someone read the rules instead of just going to the joining page. These people just make me so irritated! And another thing! I ask them to watch for typos and misspelling and incorrect grammar, then when they repost their profile, all of the same mistakes are there. It makes me want to shout at them.

I don't know when I'll be able to do all of this, since I'm going to be gone during the weekdays doing research until July 13. Then I have a week until band camp starts, and that's a full bowl of goodness (that has rotted for 6+ years). And I have my manga that I want to update at least once a week. What do I do?

I'll finish later.
